Against Merfolk:
This match up is favorable for NH. Merfolk have no removal for NH’s threat. Mana denial strategy doesn’t work well against high count of 23 lands.
This match up is focused on turn 1 vial. For that, NH have FoW, EE, and Daze on the play. NH’s development would catch Merfolk’s unless their Vial works. What Merfolk can do is excluding NH’s threats from red zone temporarily with Merrow Reejerey once NH establish defense line.
Sometimes Merfolk blow off their opponents with threat-full hands with no disruption, especially against blue decks because of powerful LoA.
NH can deal with LoA with counter magics, removals, vanishing own islands with Daze, KotR, Wasteland.
About boarding, NH side out some of Stifle for additional EE. Turn 1 EE would be strongest action. I think Daze shouldn’t be out even on the draw for dealing with islandwalk, in addition, Daze would hit their threats without Vial.
